HICAGO (AP) -- Online travel agency Orbitz Worldwide Inc. said Friday that it added a travel-industry consultant and former executive to its board this week.
The company said Kenneth S. Esterow replaced William J.G. Griffith IV, a buyout firm executive who resigned from the board to spend time on other professional responsibilities. Griffith had been on the board since 2007.
The appointment of Esterow, 47, took effect Tuesday. He has held several positions at Orbitz's largest shareholder, Travelport Ltd., and at Cendant Corp. He was president and CEO of Travelport's Gullivers Travel Associates unit from 2007 until this year.
Orbitz's businesses include the Orbitz website, CheapTickets and ebookers. They sell flights, hotel rooms, rental cars and vacation homes.
The shares fell 4 cents to close at $2.44.
